With over fifteen years of experience, I have a thorough knowledge of web development. I have built both small and large-scale web applications. I have contributed to large database driven software with support for real time communication, and I have created small static sites that can be produced quickly and efficiently. Additionally, I have extensive experience with building complex systems from both existing technologies and custom frameworks. My primary goal is in delivering robust applications that improve the lives of its users.
Manage and provide guidance to a team of engineers and lead the shift from various legacy technologies to contemporary standards and best practices. Work with Product & Design leadership to plan and execute business goals. Provide expert opinion in the hiring process. Facilitate and lead discussions about engineering best practices. Build infrastructure and tools that enable the engineering team to execute business goals. Implement processes and tools that improve the engineering team’s quality of life.
An important life goal for me is travel. After deciding to move to the east coast, I took a break to go see things I've always wanted to see. I traveled to 10 countries, met many different people, and learned about just how big the world is!
I worked with a team of developers and content managers to create custom widgets for use in Sitecore. I worked closely with the marketing team to architect custom solutions to ongoing marketing goals. I collaborated with team members from multiple disciplines to plan and execute on long term goals for the website. This included development of and support for the previously created one-page registration app, multiple one-page calculator apps, and their replacements.
I lead a team of developers with diverse skill sets in the creation of digital marketing collateral and web applications. I work closely with the backend development team, creative team, and business development team to improve the process of collaboration and the creation of quality content for our clients. I work extensively on improving our existing front end technologies to keep pace with current advances in the field. This includes front end build tools, processes, and frameworks.
As part of a small start up team, I developed custom web and iOS applications that served as a silent auction platform, a set of sales engagement tools, and a search engine. I helped develop a robust application framework in PHP that took advantage of the latest features and improvements of the language. I worked extensively on iOS applications to improve existing products and new applications. I built a system in Objective C that combined static images and web content into a presentation that allowed sales reps to demo the products and services available to a potential clients. I built another system that displayed real time data about items, bids, and bidders onto a large screen format for use during live auctions.
Using technologies such as JavaScript, ASP.NET, and Drupal, I built web applications for clients to use in their marketing and user engagement campaigns. These web applications processed user input and calculated recommendations for users in their evaluation of the client's product and services.
Using a combination of both front-end and back end development tools, I developed professional websites for small and medium sized businesses. Working with the web designer, we would create and publish the website and content for our clients. I set up the hosting servers and managed the installation and customization of WordPress sites.
Working closely with the designer and the back end developer, I created a rich user experiences that focused on presenting concise and informative reports about a user's financial state. As the sole front-end developer, I was responsible for the implementation of the UI using jQuery, CSS, and HTML. I also contributed to the creation of the REST APIs built with VB.NET.
I developed multiple websites that served as lead generators for affiliate marketing clients. I built microsites with a heavy focus on attractive and easy to use interfaces that collected information from users. Using ASP.NET, I built a set of applications that interfaced with client systems. This often required data transformation through adapters to external systems using varied APIs.
My primary role was to build the UI of a web accessible supplier management database. The front-end was implemented using custom JavaScript, CSS and HTML, but later development incorporated third party JavaScript libraries. New AJAX technologies were used to improve the responsiveness of pages with large data requirements providing users with a responsive search experience.
